Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.
Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Gundam series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Gundam kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.
Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 1/144 HG GN Archer a good kit for beginners?
The 1/144 HG GN Archer is a relatively simple kit to assemble, with no complex parts or polycaps. However, it does have some small pieces, so it might not be the best choice for absolute beginners. If you've built a few other HG kits before, you should be able to handle the GN Archer without any problems.
Does the GN Archer come with any weapons?
Yes, the GN Archer comes with its signature GN Sniper Rifle, as well as a GN Beam Saber. The rifle can be folded up and stored on the backpack, and the beam saber can be mounted on the forearms.
How is the articulation of the GN Archer?
The articulation of the GN Archer is good, but not great. The arms and legs have a good range of motion, but the shoulders are a bit limited due to the design of the backpack. Overall, the GN Archer can be posed in a variety of dynamic positions, but it's not as poseable as some other HG kits.
What is the color accuracy of the GN Archer?
The color accuracy of the GN Archer is very good. The kit comes molded in several different colors, which means that you don't need to do any painting if you don't want to. The colors are a close match to the anime, and the overall look of the kit is very impressive.
Is the GN Archer worth the price?
The 1/144 HG GN Archer is a well-made kit with good detail and articulation. It's not the cheapest HG kit on the market, but it's definitely worth the price if you're a fan of Gundam 00. If you're looking for a fun and challenging kit to build, the GN Archer is a great option.
