Series Assembly Guide FAQ

Bandai Figure Rise Standard Amplified Blue-Eyes White Dragon (Yu-Gi-Oh!)

Blue-Eyes White Dragon, one of the most popular monsters in "Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters" has been turned into a Figure-rise Standard Amplified kit!

The charm of the character has been "amplified" with a new interpretation of the design arrangement unique to the plastic model. A metallic blue color has been used for the molding to make the monster feel more epic, and its huge wings, each measuring about 265mm in length, are equipped with joint axes for posability.

The wing membranes are made of soft material. Gradation printing is applied, allowing you to enjoy various colour tone changes depending on the angle, posing, etc.

The arm and leg joints are equipped with movable axes, so the unique outline of the dragon has been recreated while achieving a wide range of movement.

The neck and tail are made from parts that are divided according to the joints and have built-in lead wires, allowing for movement that gives a sense of life. The form is maintained even when the figure is flexed or twisted.

Movable jaw and tongue on the head allow for expressions when posing. Two display joint parts are included to expand the range of poses.

  • Display base x 1 formula
  • Joint parts for display x 2 types
  • Lead wire x 1

    Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Gundam series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Gundam kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What's the scale and size of the finished model?

The Figure-rise Standard Amplified Blue-Eyes White Dragon is a 1/72 scale model, making it about 10.43 inches tall when standing on its hind legs. Each wingspan measures a whopping 26.5cm (10.43 inches), truly amplifying the Dragon's majestic presence.

Is the model pre-painted or do I need to paint it myself?

This Blue-Eyes White Dragon comes pre-painted in a metallic blue that captures its iconic look from the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. The details on the body, wings, and claws are already highlighted, so you can display it right out of the box. However, if you're a seasoned modeler, you can certainly add your own personal touches with additional paints or weathering effects.

    How poseable is the model?

The Figure-rise Standard Amplified Blue-Eyes White Dragon features articulated joints at the shoulders, legs, and tail, allowing you to recreate various dynamic poses from the anime. The wing membranes are made of a soft material, so you can position them for a more dramatic flying display.

What skill level is required for assembly?

This model kit is rated for experienced modelers. While the snap-fit parts make it easier to assemble than glue-based kits, it still requires some patience and dexterity to put together the intricate details. If you're a beginner, it's recommended to start with a simpler Figure-rise Standard kit before tackling this majestic dragon.

Where can I buy the Figure-rise Standard Amplified Blue-Eyes White Dragon?

You can find this model kit at various online retailers specializing in anime merchandise and hobby supplies, such as Amazon, HobbyLink Japan, and BigBadToyStore. The price may vary depending on the retailer and availability, but it generally ranges from $50 to $80 USD.

I was hesitant at first about figure rise, but the quality and the level of details is great. I much prefer it to the HG Level. 100% would look at and purchase other figure rise options.
