Nippers

In the realm of model kit building, especially Gunpla, the right set of nippers can make all the difference. Two primary types dominate the scene.

1. Standard Nippers: These double-bladed tools resemble small side cutters. Great for beginners, they’re versatile and affordable. 2. Single-Sided Nippers: Boasting one sharp blade and one flat side, these nippers are precision tools. They offer cleaner, closer cuts, ensuring minimal nub remains, which is a boon for detailing. 3. Bladeless Nippers (or Pliers): These are not designed for cutting. Instead, they're used to hold parts or twist and break parts from the sprue. Their design minimizes the risk of unintentionally damaging or stressing parts during removal. 

Beyond these two primary categories, there are variations in quality, material, and craftsmanship. High-quality nippers made of superior steel and precise forging processes will provide cleaner cuts and last longer but will come at a higher price point.

For most modelers, either standard or single-sided nippers will be essential. The choice between them often comes down to budget and desired level of precision during the initial part removal from the sprue.
