Bandai SD Gundam Aile Strike Gundam

Gear Up for Super Deformed Fun: The Bandai SD Gundam EX Standard Aile Strike Gundam is Ready to Blast Off!

No need for beam sabers this time, buddy! This ain't your usual Gundam. This is the Bandai SD Gundam EX Standard Aile Strike Gundam, and it's here to melt your heart with cuteness while packing more firepower than a birthday piñata full of rockets.

Imagine:

  • A chonky little Gundam with eyes like saucers and a grin that could charm a Zaku.
  • Big ol' wings that whoosh with excitement as it prepares to launch into adorable aerial maneuvers.
  • A beam rifle shorter than its arm, but don't underestimate its pew-pew power!

This ain't just a model, it's a pocket-sized hero ready to take on any cardboard monster or dust bunny under the couch. The snap-fit parts make it easy enough for even the clumsiest fingers (like mine!), and the poseable limbs let you recreate all your favorite Strike Gundam moves – in super-deformed cuteness, of course.

Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Gundam series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Gundam kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is the finished model?

The SD Gundam EX Standard Aile Strike Gundam falls into the "Super Deformed" category, meaning it's significantly smaller than standard Gundam models. Expect a completed size around 3-4 inches tall, perfect for displaying on a desk or carrying in your pocket.

Is it easy to build, even for kids?

Absolutely! This kit belongs to Bandai's EX Standard line, designed for simple snap-fit assembly with no glue required. The large parts and clear instructions make it ideal for younger builders or newcomers to model kits.

Can I pose the SD Aile Strike Gundam in different ways?

Yes! While not as flexible as its larger counterparts, the EX Standard line offers decent articulation in the arms, legs, and head. Strike a cute pose with the beam rifle, spread the wings for an adorable flight stance, or create funny chibi action scenes.

Does it come with any other weapons or accessories?

The basic kit includes the iconic beam rifle and shield. Some versions might offer additional weapons like beam sabers or even optional parts from other kits, allowing you to mix and match for unique customization (sold separately).

Is the SD Aile Strike Gundam pre-painted, or do I need to paint it myself?

Most EX Standard kits come in unpainted plastic, but some variations offer pre-painted versions for those who prefer a ready-made display piece. Choose the option that best suits your skills and preferences!
