Series Assembly Guide FAQ

Bandai 1/144 HGBD:R Nepteight Unit

Here's some new armour and frame parts for the main suit of "Gundam Build Divers Re: RISE" so you can recreate the Nepteight Gundam! The armour can be attached to the Core Gundam II (available from the separately sold HGBD:R Uraven Gundam), or combined with the separately sold HGBD:R Nepteight Weapons to form the Neptune Armor. A display stand and foil stickers are also included.

Included:-

  • Exterior parts — 1
  • Frame parts x 1
  • Pedestal x 1
  • Foil seal — 1

The Neptune Armour was initially conceived to fulfill Eve's wishes to go "across the solar system, and to the ends of GBN" with Hiroto's Gunpla. Following the 2nd Coalition of Volunteers Battle, it was left unfinished by Hiroto until the events on Eldora. To complete the Neptune Armor in time before the firing of the satellite cannon, Hiroto enlisted the help of the rest of the BUILD DiVERS to complete the parts.

The Nepteight Gundam was utilized to launch the BUILD DiVERS and their Gunpla into space via laser propulsion. Although the Voiture Lumiere system was not intended to be used under gravity, Hiroto felt that it was possible with the Avalanche Rex Buster acting as the laser source. However, more energy was consumed than expected, requiring the Ex Valkylander's Gundrans-Am to provide enough thrust to overcome Eldora's gravity well. After the BUILD DiVERS reached outer space, the Neptune Armor parts malfunctioned, seemingly due to the stress caused by the atmospheric exit, and were purged and left to drift in Eldora's orbit.

    Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Gundam series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Gundam kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What sets the "Build Divers" Series apart from other Gundam series?

"Build Divers" is set in the near future where players use Gunpla models to dive into a virtual universe called "GBN" (Gunpla Battle Nexus). Unlike traditional Gundam series that depict war narratives, "Build Divers" centers on cooperative online gaming, camaraderie, and the love of Gunpla building.

Who are the main characters in the "Build Divers" series?

The story follows Riku Mikami, a young Gunpla enthusiast, and his friends. As they form a team named "Build Divers," they navigate challenges and battles within GBN, fostering friendships and rivalries with other Divers.

How do Gunpla battles work in the GBN?

In GBN, players "dive" into the virtual space with their custom-built Gunpla. Battles vary from one-on-one duels to team-based missions, combining both strategy and Gunpla building skills. The virtual setting allows for creative and fantastical battle scenarios not bound by the physical world.

Are the mobile suits in "Build Divers" original designs?

While many mobile suits in "Build Divers" are unique to characters, they're often customized versions of existing models from various Gundam series. This pays homage to the creativity of Gunpla builders who tweak and modify kits for personalized flair.

How does "Build Divers" contribute to the broader Gundam franchise?

"Build Divers" introduces Gundam to a younger audience by emphasizing the fun and community aspect of Gunpla building and battling. While it nods to classic Gundam themes, its approach is more lighthearted and less rooted in the political and wartime narratives common in other series.
