Frequently Asked Questions

What is the "Post Disaster" timeline?

Q: What is the "Post Disaster" timeline? A: The "Post Disaster" timeline is the setting for "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans." It begins 300 years after the great Calamity War where mobile suits, notably Gundams, played a pivotal role. This era is characterized by a fragile peace maintained by economic blocs and the influence of Mars' independence movement

Who are the main protagonists in the "Post Disaster" series?

"Iron-Blooded Orphans" follows the members of Tekkadan, a group of child soldiers led by Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka. They take on a mission to escort Kudelia Aina Bernstein, a Martian independence activist, to Earth, facing multiple challenges from powerful adversaries along the way.

What are the Alaya-Vijnana System and its significance?

The Alaya-Vijnana System is a surgical procedure that connects a pilot's nervous system to their mobile suit, granting enhanced reflexes and machine control. However, it's controversial due to its high risk and its use mainly on child soldiers, like Mikazuki.

How does "Iron-Blooded Orphans" differ from other Gundam series?

"Iron-Blooded Orphans" is distinct for its darker tones, focusing on the consequences of child soldiers, economic disparities, and the impact of war. While it retains the mecha battles characteristic of Gundam series, its narrative prioritizes character development and political intrigue.

Are there any notable mobile suits from the "Post Disaster" timeline?

Absolutely. The series features several iconic mobile suits, with the most notable being the Gundam Barbatos, piloted by Mikazuki. This Gundam, with its multiple forms and upgrades, becomes symbolic of Tekkadan's journey.
