Maschinen Krieger (Ma.k)

Maschinen Krieger (Ma.K ZBV3000) is a science fiction universe created by Japanese artist and sculptor Kow Yokoyama in the 1980s. The franchise originally began as the science fiction series SF3D which ran as monthly installments in the Japanese hobby magazine. To develop the storyline, Kow Yokoyama collaborated with Hiroshi Ichimura as story editor and Kunitaka Imai as graphic designer. Assembly Guide

Skill Level.3. Basic modeling skills are essential. These kits are not recommended for beginners or children due to the high level of complexity of assembly and the sheer volume of parts. Experience in building more complex Gunpla models is recommended. Parental supervision is essential. A full set of hobby tools is recommended that includes, nippers, hobby knives, sandpaper, sanding sticks, files, buffing files, glues, tweezers, and decal adhesive/softener. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Gundam series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Gundam kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's so special about the Falke? It looks like other Ma.K. mechs.

The Falke stands out for its impressive versatility and maneuverability. It can transform between three distinct modes: Fighter, Gerwalk, and Battroid, allowing it to dominate both aerial and ground combat. Imagine soaring through the skies, then landing and unleashing a devastating attack from either a bipedal or quadrupedal stance.

Is it pre-painted, or do I need to paint it myself?

This depends on the specific kit version. Some offer pre-painted options in the Falke's signature grey and red color scheme, while others require painting for full customization. Choose based on your preference for convenience or creative freedom.

How poseable is it? Can I put it in different action stances?

The Falke boasts excellent articulation in its joints, allowing you to pose it in dynamic and expressive stances. Its transforming abilities further add to the storytelling potential. Whether you recreate iconic scenes from Ma.K. lore or craft your own narratives, the Falke can bring them to life with its impressive range of movement.

What kind of weapons does it have?

The Falke's arsenal is impressive, including beam cannons, missile launchers, and even a shoulder-mounted cannon. Some kits might offer interchangeable weapons for extra customization, letting you tailor the Falke's firepower to your preferred tactics.

Is it easy to build? I'm not an expert modeler.

The complexity can vary depending on the specific kit and manufacturer. Some versions might offer snap-fit designs for easier assembly, while others might require glue and experience with smaller parts. Check reviews and product descriptions for difficulty levels, and consider your own modeling experience.
