Arrived in good condition
Great and easy build, only issue I had with it was the shoulder pads when rotating the arms. Cement it should fix the issue.
This 1/144 scale beauty comes with two types of GN drives so you can build it as either the Astraea or Astraea Type-B. Its weapons include two GN Beam Sabers, a GN Shield, GN Beam Rifle, Proto GN Sword, and the massive GN Launcher. Bandai's use of polycaps allows the Astraea to hold a variety of poses. Foil marking stickers are included.

Read MoreGunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.
Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Gundam series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Gundam kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.
Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.
The 1/144 HG Gundam Astraea can transform between two distinct forms: Mobile Suit (MS) Form: This is the standard humanoid form of the Gundam, suitable for close-quarters combat and general mobile suit operations. Mobile Armor (MA) Form: By transforming its limbs and backpack, the Astraea converts into a high-speed, aerodynamic form ideal for long-range travel and combat.
The Astraea comes with a variety of weapons, including: GN Beam Rifle: A powerful long-range beam weapon, the primary ranged weapon of the Astraea. GN Beam Saber: A standard close-quarters combat weapon used by many Gundams. GN Shield: Provides defense against enemy attacks while also incorporating a beam saber for offensive maneuvers. Proto GN Sword: A large, powerful sword unique to the Astraea, used in both MS and MA forms. GN Launcher: A massive and powerful beam weapon, primarily used in MA form for devastating long-range attacks.
The Astraea boasts excellent articulation in both its MS and MA forms. The arms and legs have a wide range of motion, allowing for dynamic posing and recreating various action scenes from the anime. Additionally, the backpack and other parts can be adjusted to accommodate the different transformations, ensuring smooth and seamless transitions.
Yes, there are several variations and special editions of the 1/144 HG Gundam Astraea, including: HG Gundam Astraea Type-F: This variant features improved thrusters and weapons, making it even faster and more agile than the standard Astraea. HG Gundam Astraea Type-F2: This version builds upon the Type-F, adding additional weaponry and equipment. HG Gundam Astraea Type-X: This limited edition model features a unique color scheme and exclusive weapons.
While not the most complex kit, the Astraea requires some experience with model kit assembly. The smaller parts and transformation mechanism might be challenging for absolute beginners. If you haven't built other HG kits before, it's recommended to start with a simpler model first.
