Great and easy build, only issue I had with it was the shoulder pads when rotating the arms. Cement it should fix the issue.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - An Epic Blend of Mecha and Geopolitical Strife. Step into the world of "Gundam 00," where solar energy rules and epic mechs light up the galaxy. Fancy building Exia or the double-O Gundam? Their Gunpla kits are a dream, packed with details and that sweet GN...
Read MoreGunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.
Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Gundam series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Gundam kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.
Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.
The Exia Repair II features several upgrades and modifications due to the extensive damage the original Exia received in battle: Improved Mobility: The Repair II boasts enhanced thrusters and a redesigned leg structure for increased maneuverability. Repaired Armor: Damaged parts have been replaced with reinforced armor, making the Repair II more durable. New Weapons: The Repair II carries a modified GN Sword with additional features like a beam rifle mode and a new GN Shield with a built-in Beam Saber. Unique Color Scheme: The Repair II features a revised color scheme with black and red accents, highlighting its repaired and upgraded status.
The Exia Repair II is classified as an HG (High Grade) kit, making it a good choice for builders with some experience. It requires snap-fit assembly, meaning no glue is needed, but some parts might be small and require careful handling. The instructions are generally clear and easy to follow.
Despite the additional armor, the Exia Repair II maintains good articulation for dynamic posing. The arms and legs have a wide range of motion, allowing you to recreate various action scenes from the anime. The head and shoulders also offer some movement for further posing options.
Besides the aforementioned upgrades, the Exia Repair II kit features: GN Drive "Boost Mode": An optional part allows you to display the GN Drive in its activated state, resembling its in-show appearance. GN Sword transformation: The GN Sword can switch between sword and rifle mode, offering additional combat options. Detailed accessories: The kit includes various weapons and equipment, including a GN Beam Saber, GN Shield, and effect parts for the GN Drive.
Considering its detailed design, improved features, and additional weapons, the Exia Repair II offers good value for its price. It's a great option for fans of the Exia model who want a unique and upgraded version, or for those who appreciate the repaired and battle-worn aesthetic. However, if you prefer simpler models or are on a tight budget, the standard Exia might be a better choice.
