Bandai 1/35 MG Patlabor Ingram Special Set

With this one set, you can build your choice of Ingram 1, 2, or 3 with LED gimmicks (to build all of them you will need 3 sets). Not only that, but all the plastic in the original kits has been replaced with beautiful gloss-coated pieces!

The set includes a Hand Revolver that can be stored in the leg compartment, a riot gun, stun stick and and activated stun stick as well as three unpainted figures in standing and sitting positions (a total of 6 figures). The real fun with this kit begins when you activate the LED patrol lights on the model's shoulder. The six LEDs create a realistic rolling light effect that makes whichever unit you choose stand out!

    Assembly Guide

Skill Level.2 Basic modeling skills are required. Parental supervision may be required for younger children. These kits are generally suitable for beginner builders. A basic set of modeling tools are required including nippers, hobby knife, sanding sticks/paper, file, and tweezers. No glue is needed for the general assembly. Parts will need to be removed by using a pair of nippers and cutting the part away from the runner. Parts may require clean-up where they were removed from the runner.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are a snap together assembly and do not need plastic cement to complete. We always recommend having some plastic cement handy as a part of your modeler's tool kit. If you prefer to fix your model in a particular pose then plastic cement will work. Plastic cement is also perfect to use if a joint is loose. Apply plastic cement in a single thin layer and allow it to dry completely before test fitting. Re-apply more cement if necessary.

Gunpla (plastic model kits) are designed to be built and displayed without the need for painting. Kits are molded in different colours replicating the colours of the actual mecha from the Gundam series. A technique called colour separation, where multiple parts of the model are molded in different colours on the same sprue is also used. Gundam kits often include stickers or water-slide decals that can be applied to the model to enhance its appearance. Some Gunpla kits come with pre-painted parts or parts with pre-applied details, such as metallic or translucent finishes.

Many modelers still choose to paint their kits to customize and add further detail. Painting allows for more creativity and personalization, enabling modelers to achieve unique effects, weathering, and colour schemes that may not be available out of the box. However, the kits are designed to be enjoyable and visually appealing even without painting, making them accessible to a wide range of hobbyists.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this Special Set different from the regular Ingram kits?

This set is a collector's dream, offering not just one, but all three AV-98 Ingram versions: the 1st, 2nd, and TV iterations! Each comes with its own unique weapons and details, allowing you to display the evolution of the Ingram throughout the Patlabor franchise.

Do all the Ingrams have the same level of detail?

Yes! Each version boasts the same high level of detail expected from MG kits, with sharp panel lines, intricate parts, and accurate representations of their anime counterparts. Prepare to be impressed by the sheer amount of detail packed into this special set.

Are there any additional bonuses included?

Absolutely! The Special Set goes beyond just the Ingrams. You'll also get: Pilot figures: Each Ingram comes with a seated pilot figure for added realism and display options. Display stands: Showcase all three Ingrams in dynamic poses with the included stands. Special box art: This limited edition set features unique box art celebrating the Patlabor legacy, making it a true collector's piece.

Is it worth the extra cost compared to buying the individual kits?

That depends on your collecting goals. If you want all three Ingrams and appreciate the bonus features, the Special Set offers great value and convenience. However, if you only want one specific Ingram or are on a budget, buying individual kits might be more cost-effective.

Is it difficult to build for beginners?

Each Ingram in the set is rated as an "Intermediate" kit, suitable for experienced modelers with some prior experience. While snap-fit and glue-less, the numerous small parts and intricate details require patience and precision. Beginners might find it challenging, but for seasoned modelers, it's a rewarding project to build and display.
